

Leopoldo Farias, age 82, of Bethlehem, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Leo was born in Pharr, Texas in 1941 to the late Eliseo and Herminia Lopez Farias. Leo served his country in the U.S. Army, including time in Vietnam. He retired from Johns Manville in Winder where he was a training supervisor. Leo was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Matthew Catholic Church. He was a Superhero, a role model, and a constant source of inspiration to nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Martinez Farias and his sister, Elia Farias. He is survived by his daughter, Marivelle (Michael Andrew) Blackwood of Texas; brothers: Gustavo Farias, Eliseo Farias, Jr., and Roberto Farias; sisters: Senaida Gonzalez and Esther Olivia; four grandchildren: Jenelle Marie Wilkerson, Michelle Andrea Blackwood, Terrell Anthony Blackwood, and Giselle Nicole Blackwood; three great-grandchildren: Imaryllina Nevaeh Moreno, Nayema Gracie Moreno, and Caliehana Charlie Mae Wilkerson. Leo is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Ruben) Candelario and their children, Sofia, Natalia, Issac, and Sebastian; Kassandra (Michael) Delgadillo and their children Michael, Jr. and Athena; Alexandra (Jacob Craig) Camarena; Viola Martinez; Monica Saldana and her children Gisella Orellana and Joe Anthony Saldana; Josie (Noel) Gutierrez and daughter, Valerie (Mauro Resendiz) Gutierrez. Leo was a father figure to his special niece and caregiver, Cris Ramos and her children Jennifer, Kassandra, and Alexandra.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia. The Funeral Service will be after the visitation at 2:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel with the burial to follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Highway SE, Winder, Georgia.
