Linda Joyce Ball

Linda Joyce Ball, age 68 of Covington, GA, passed on May 11, 2026. She was the daughter of the late John Edgar and Betty McElhannon Pitts. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing and had a long career dedicated to helping others. She worked as a Nurse in private practice and at Rockdale Medical Center prior to becoming a School Nurse at Newton High School where she worked from 1992 until her retirement in 2016. Linda was a devoted wife and an excellent mother. She took joy in life's simple pleasures - watching the Golden Girls, reading, playing games on her tablet, and traveling to beaches and the mountains.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother John David Pitts. Linda is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Tim Ball, and her son, Matthew (Shelby) Ball.

There will be a Visitation for family and friends at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. After the Visitation hour, there will be a Funeral Service at 3:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel with the burial to follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
