Margaret E. Hughes, age 84 of Winder, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. She was a member of The Winder First United Methodist Church, a member of their Fellowship Sunday School Class and a church volunteer. She was a Barrow Regional Hospital Auxiliary and Red Cross Volunteer. Margaret retired as a clerk for the Federal Reserve Bank with 41 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Newton and Maggie Ruth Jones Thomas and a brother, W.D. Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Betty Clark of Winder; two nieces, Brenda Bass (Lyster) and Jennifer Lester (Greg) and a sister-in-law, Linnie Thomas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, November 2, 2015 at The Winder First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Tippens officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Winder First United Methodist Church.
