Marilyn Ilene Thompson

Marilyn Ilene Thompson, age 78 of Winder, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born in Panama City, FL to the late Jack and Genevieve Saltz. As the child of a military member, she spent her childhood traveling the world. She had been a member of the National Guard. Marilyn worked for many years as a receptionist for a CPA firm. She loved reading and traveling. She was a member of Winder First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Thompson, and her son, Christopher B. Thompson. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Pamela (Steven) Murray, and her grandchildren: Timothy Tyler Moore and Stephanie Marie Murray.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 7 in Smith Memory Chapel with the burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations in memory of Marilyn be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
