Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Hugh and Mamie Sorrow Strickland. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold R. Sutton; and a son, Michael Sutton.
Survivors include a son, David Sutton, Santa Clarita, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie Strickland, Athens; and sisters, Sarah Fisler, Lawrenceville, Tina Stephens, Athens, Betty Phillips, Hull, and Joyce Gabriel, Danielsville.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 15, at 11 a.m. from Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
