Mary Lynn Wechsberg
May 8, 1937 – October 16, 2020
Mary Lynn Wechsberg, 83, of Lawrenceville Ga, died at 10:25 PM, Friday, October 16th, 2020 at the Winder Health Care and Rehab Center after a final visit from her son before succumbing to old age. Lynn as she was fondly known to by family and friends, was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on May 8th, 1937 to Doctor Gusto Albin and Mary Catherine Liva. After her high school graduation, Lynn attended and graduated from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1959 and followed her dream to become a teacher.
After meeting her future husband, Klaus W Wechsberg in Denver Colorado in September of 1965, they married 2 months later November 19th, 1965, going on to have 2 living children, John Patrick Wechsberg and Mary Catherine Wechsberg. Her husband fell for her only after 2 months because he thought that she was such a beautiful woman who had no vanity about her beauty. He was so impressed with her need to care for the elderly and the young and he thought that was an amazing thing that he was so immensely proud of.
Lynn was passionate about the state of politics wherever she lived and was as active advocate in her mission to see that the right man or woman got the job. In her later years, she and her husband traveled extensively all over the world by plane, train, boat, and car. Lynn loved traveling all over Europe as the young kids did. Going from place to place by train and staying in hostels where available to feel like a real traveler. Lynn settled down with her husband in her later years in Lawrenceville Ga, where she resided with her husband until it was not realistic for her to be there and she moved to Winder Healthcare in Winder Ga to be closer to her daughter and family.
Lynn is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Klaus W Wechsberg; her son John (Marie) Wechsberg and their son Justin Wechsberg all of Bowie MD and John’s daughter, Carnoshia Wechsberg Triplett and his granddaughter Alaysia Triplett of McDonough, GA. As well as Lynn’s daughter Mary (Cathy) Wechsberg and her 2 daughters, Ashlyn Leigh and Kristin Evie Lynn Hardigree of Winder GA. Our Wife and Mother will be greatly missed by all of us, but she did her job. She helped to form her children into who they are today and had an amazing marriage of 54 years to a man that stood by her every step of the way. They lived, loved and traveled the world not looking back but always looking forward to the next future endearer.
At this time the family has decided that due to the condition of her husband that there is to be no service but that at a future date her immediate family will gather once again to celebrate her life, her husband and her children who she loved till the moment she left this world.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to her husband at 418 Arrowhatchee Drive Winder Ga. 30680 at this time.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
