He was a member of Bethlehem Church and a graduate of Winder-Barrow High School. Matthew loved watching YouTube and harassing Mom and Dad as much as possible with videos and sounds.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Terry Bentley. Matthew is survived by his parents, Duane and Julie Lawlor Bentley of Winder; two brothers, Christopher and Evan Bentley of Winder; a sister, Emily Bentley of Winder; his grandparents, Joann Kames of Auburn, Robert Lawlor of Winder, and Carol Savage Bentley of Monroe; and a great-grandmother, Mary Jo Savage of Bethlehem.
A celebration of Matthew's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the funeral home.
