

Nancy Karen Pennington, 78 of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was born in Miami, FL and moved to Marietta, GA before her senior year of high school. Nancy earned her Associate’s Degree from Truett-McConnell College where she met the love of her life, Donnie. For 58 years they served the Barrow County community together. From their early years operating the Dari-Delite to over 30 years ministering at Church at Winder, Nancy spent her last years as a faithful member of Restoration Church where she served alongside her husband. Nancy loved to send out cards of encouragement, create beautiful cross-stitch pictures and spend quality time with those she loved. She always enjoyed a Christmas movie or a good book. Nancy was the epitome of gentleness and grace and above all, she loved the Lord and her family passionately.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her sons: James Pennington (Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO; Joshua Pennington (Saquawia) of Sierra Vista, AZ; her daughters, Stacy Leiter (Eric) of Bethlehem, GA; Hannah Pennington of Bethlehem, GA; siblings, Herman O. Brown (Helene) of Dawsonville, GA, and Martha Johnson of Bella Vista, AR; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Herman O. Brown, Sr. and Edna Ryals Brown; siblings, Michael Brown and Helen Mobley; and one grandson, Jadon Pennington.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Restoration Church with Pastor Ben Warrick officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
