

Nell was a very talented individual who won national needlepoint awards for design and execution. She was an artist, having worked in oil paint and stained glass. She finished her art career as a quilter and made sure her family all had at least one of her quilts. Her daughter is proud to have received the very last quilt that she made.
Nell was a very strong lady who was determined to be 100 years old. Everyone was so very glad she made it and stayed in her own home, living alone until her death. She was very grateful to her caregivers, without whom, she could not have remained in her home.
Nell was a beloved Mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, friend and neighbor. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Hayles and her partner, Raymond Melio; nephews, Rodney Wilson and Tommy Wilson and his wife, Judy; niece, Margaret Campbell and her husband, Robert; plus all their children and grandchildren. She also loved her granddog, Nali.
Nell was a person who would do anything for anyone she could help. She left behind friends from Alabama and Georgia. She had a great group of neighbors and quilting friends that she held very dear. Nell was a huge sports fan, especially of the Alabama Crimson Tide. She had enjoyed all of March Madness this year and college softball and baseball.
Nell loved many and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
