Patricia Sheryl Pepper passed following a courageous battle with cancer at age 80 on September 19, 2026. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Felma Coin Campbell and Nancy Larue Huntzicker.
Sheryl was a graduate of Avondale High School in 1964 and the University of Georgia in 1968. Sheryl met Jim Pepper at Avondale and married him in 1968. They resided in Georgia, Maryland, and South Carolina prior to returning to Georgia to build on Sheryl’s grandparents’ farm.
Sheryl was most proud of her family. She is survived by her spouse, Jim, of 58 years; her daughter, Stacey Rhinehardt (Jeff); her three grandchildren, Adam Rhinehardt (Rebecca), Brooke Rhinehardt, and Brittany McGill (Holden); and three great-grandchildren, Macie, Maddie, and Colton.
Sheryl had a love of nature and the spiritual connection she felt while enjoying the beauty surrounding her. You could often find her walking in the woods, feeding wildlife, or taking pictures of sunsets. She visited over 30 national parks and looked forward to traveling around the country. Her favorite activities included sports of all kinds. Sheryl made many friends playing softball, tennis, basketball, and volleyball, and many of those friendships lasted through the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or mailed to:
