I knew Rafael from St. Amant High band when I was a freshman. I met him at All District band in I believe 1977. He was an influence on me because he helped me with my Baritone playing and showed me a few things he'd learned over time. He was a good person and my wife Susan and I send our deepest condolences to his family.....may God comfort you in this solemn time...

I am very sorry to hear this about Rafael. We worked together for many years at the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. He was always one of my favorite deputies. Loved his laugh. Although I did not see him often after he left IRCSO he will always be remembered as a good, kind friend. My sincere condolences to his family.

When I think of Rafael, I remember his southern voice, his kind nature towards juveniles while working with the Sheriffs office.
I will always have a special place in my heart for Rafael because he was the matchmaker for my husband and myself! Rafael, Chuck and I had all worked together at one time , but I was no longer with law enforcement and Rafael knew I wasn’t dating. He knew Chuck wasn’t seeing anyone so there starts the love story of the Chuck and Cindy Kirby.
Thanks to our dear friend Rafael, Chuck and I celebrated our 19th year wedding anniversary, in November with a total of 23 years together!
When people over the years have asked me how we have meant, I have always tell them about Rafael. I believe their were two angels in my live then... Rafael and Chuck. I truly have been blessed.
I pray that god holds and comforts you at this time. God has taken another angel. I am so sorry for your loss.
