Mr. Ford served the United States faithfully in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired with IBM as a production control manager with 32 years of dedicated service. Mr. Ford’s faith was very important to him. He was very active in the Church of Christ.
Mr. Ford is preceded in death by the love of his life of 64 years, Mrs. Gloria Quay Ford whom he married on December 20, 1952; his parents; Stanley Albert Ford and Lenora Grace Ford; daughter, Cheryl Ann Ford; and brother, Donald Ford.
Mr. Ford is survived by his three children Debi Yorke (Russ Yorke), Marcy Bligh, and Craig Ford; and his many beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A brief funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Ford will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at Smith Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed via the Smith Funeral Home Facebook page. COVID-19 regulations have been eased and masks are optional at the service.
The family request that all attending to the service to please wear denim or flannel as this was Bob’s favorite clothing to wear.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Riverside Cemetery in Apalachin, NY.
