Ron Garrett

Ronald Payne Garrett, age 79 of Winder, GA, passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, to the late Willie and Hazel Garrett. Ron's early years were spent in Gaston, NC and he moved with his family to Decatur, GA when he was 14 years old. Ron was a good husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR, and hanging out with his friend, Jason Love. Ron was a Master Automobile Technician and retired from Honda Mall of Georgia.

Ron is survived by his live-in caretaker, best friend, and POA, Lynn Pulkkinen of Winder, GA; his children: Amy (David) Baker of Dacula, Eddie (Jill) Garrett of Chicago, and Lorrie (Lola) Garrett of Decatur; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Gloria (John) Giddens of Eastpoint, FL.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:45 pm. Following the Visitation, there will be a Funeral Service in Smith Memory Chapel at 1:45 pm. The service will be officiated by Pastor Michael Jeffords and Eddie Garrett.
