After a brief illness, Ms. Morris passed peacefully to be with her Lord.
Ms. Morris became a child of the Lord at age 11 and remained faithful
throughout her life. With a kind and gentle heart she served her Lord in
many capacities and was a Bible school teacher for many years. She
was a devoted member of the Whistleville Christian Church. Ruby also
served as caretaker for twin sister Ruth, brother Almond, and her
parents.
Services will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, Georgia, on Friday
May 16, 2014 at 4 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Margaret Morris,
her brothers J.T., Bobby (Betty), Almond, sisters Sue (Fred) Cox, Annie
McMillan, and Ruth Morris. She is survived by a sister, Sybil (Don)
Casper, brother, Ned (Sandra) Morris, sister-in-law Jean Morris,
brother-in-law, Guy McMillan, many nephews, nieces, great nieces and
great nephews.
Ruby graduated from Winder High School in 1955 and from the Athens
Business School in accounting. Sheworked as a federal officer for the
Selective Service, Ford Motor Company and retired from the State of
Georgia Mental Health Financial Department.
