Ruby Lee Turpin

Ruby Lee Turpin, age 89, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Ruby was born in White County on September 27, 1932. Ruby worked at M.B. Huff Grocery and later at Golden Corral Restaurant in Winder. She loved her garden and working in her yard.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents William Fred "W.F." and Cora Edge Hooper; her husband, Jack Turpin; son, Lonnie Turpin; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Thomas Turpin of Winder; daughters: Linda Maynard of Baldwin and Susie Turpin of Athens; seven grandchildren: Audra (Gordon) Cantrell, Tommy (Nikki) Turpin, Kathleen Turpin, Jessica Turpin, Mendy (Timmy) Hagwood, Michelle Mitchell and Andy Turpin; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Wayne Norris, will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 4:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia.
