Mr. Russell Charles Doster

STATHAM – Russell C. Doster, 71, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012.

Born in Barrow County, he was the son of the late Jewell C. and Hazel Wallace Doster. He was retired from General Motors after 28 years of service. He was a member of Statham American Legion and Moose Lodge of Winder and Athens, Georgia. Mr. Doster was preceded in death by a son, Scott Doster; daughter, Susan Martin; and brother, John Donald Doster.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Doster, Statham; son, Russ Doster, Bethlehem; daughters, Janet (Ben) Beech and Amy (Chris) Jackson, all of Winder; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bobby Doster, Stephens.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 19, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Pennington officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 33105-1942.
