Sara Jo Standridge

Sara Jo Standridge age 89 of Winder, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Sara Jo was a lunchroom manager and retired after 20 plus years of service with the Barrow County School System. After retirement, we at Smith Funeral Home were honored enough to have her and her best friend, Karla Saunders, as funeral assistants. For over a decade they touched many lives with their kindness and love for others. Sara Jo was also a member of The Fabulous Floozies and The Dixie Wows Red Hat clubs.

Sara Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Bell Vanderford Lynch; her husband of 47 years, Willie Darrell “Red” Standridge; her brother, Buddy Lynch; and a grandson, John Walling. She is survived by a son, Steve (Donna) Standridge of Hull; a daughter, Tracey (Mike) Walling of Winder; Sister-in-law, Frances Lynch of Winder; three grandchildren: Brant (Jessica) Standridge, Shauna Standridge and Megan Offield and two great-grandchildren, Garin Standridge and Carason Standridge.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
