

Greeting her in Heaven are her parents, her husband Edgar Shaw, and her grandson, William Thomas Shaw. Scarlet lived in Winder, GA for many years and worked as a paraprofessional with special education students in the Barrow and Gwinnett County school systems before retiring in 2007. She was an active member of the Midway Methodist Church in Carl, GA and enjoyed working with the Women’s group, making items for their annual Christmas craft sales. Her greatest joy was being a proud Nana to her grandchildren.
Surviving Scarlet are her sons, Robert (Heather) Shaw of Hull, GA; Michael (Amanda) Shaw of Winder, GA; her grandson, Logan Shaw, and granddaughter, Jaden Shaw, both of Hull, GA.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, GA. Services provided by Smith Funeral Home in Winder, GA. Family and friends are welcome and mask wearing is optional.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or a charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Avery Place-Memory Care in Winterville, GA for the tender care and love given to Scarlet in the last two years of her life, and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice in Athens, GA for providing comfort to Scarlet and her family in her final days.
