Wesley Skinner

Wesley Skinner, age 67, of Winder, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Barrow County and attended Winder-Barrow High School. Wesley was a 46 year member of The Winder Masonic Lodge 333, serving as past Master, and member of The Royal Arch, Council, and Commandery. He retired as the Utilities Director for the City of Winder. Wesley was a member of Galilee Christian Church. He loved his family and was a dedicated Father and Papa, who loved to attend all of their sporting events.

Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Myron Jerome Skinner, Sr. and his sister, Teresa Skinner Williams. He is survived by his mother, Ellen Louise Martin Skinner; his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Hammond Skinner; sons, John (Kristy) Skinner of Hoschton, Russell (Erin) Skinner of Watkinsville, and Brett (Kendra) Skinner of Bishop. Wesley is also survived by eight grandchildren; Weston Skinner, Wren Skinner, Lexey (Joe) Deaton, Bristol Skinner, Hampton Skinner, Ellery Skinner, Harlyn Skinner and Ada Brett Skinner; brothers, M.J. (Blanca) Skinner of Danielsville and James (Joan) Skinner of Statham and sisters, Sheila Shedd of Winder and Melissa (Ray) Baughcum of Winder.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia. There will be a private family Celebration of Life held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to the Winder Masonic Lodge.
