

William Douglas "Doug" Murphy of Loganville, GA, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born in Dennison, OH, to the late William and Madeline Murphy. Doug lived in Winder, GA from 1987 until 2002 before returning to Ohio. A visit to GA in 2024 turned into his final resting place. Doug was musically talented and never turned down the chance to sing and play guitar, alone or on stage. He started performing in a group called Old Towne Country and later sang in a siblings' band called Murphy Brothers. He was proud to be a born-again Christian and a member of Sanctuary Baptist Church in Loganville.
In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Kirk Murphy. He is survived by three sons: Brent (Ginger) Murphy, Josh Murphy, and Jason (Mandy) Murphy; three brothers: Mark (Carol) Murphy, Kenny (Helene) Murphy, and Pat Murphy; four sisters: Glenna (Carl) Simmerman, Devie (Dewayne) Anderson, Vivian (Kenneth) Rummel, and Tracey (Rick) Sampson; sister-in-law, Karen Murphy; eight grandchildren: Coty, Carson, Carly, Emma, Brooklyn, Jackson, Lucy, and Lenny; and one great-grandchild, Marceline.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Sanctuary Baptist Church, 3064 Oak Grove Rd, SW, Loganville, GA.
