Winford “Wink” Edmond Orr, age 85, of Winder, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. During his life, he attended Union Baptist Church. Wink was a graduate of Winder-Barrow High School where he played football. He went on to attend the John Marshall School of Law. From 1945-1959 Wink served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was a long time local merchant and businessman, and an avid outdoorsman, golfer, and football enthusiast. Wink was preceded in death by his parents, John William Orr Sr. and Bertha Sauls Orr; and his brother, J.W. Orr Jr. Survivors include his wife, LaRue Orr of Winder; his sons, Dr. Stephen (Bonnie) Orr and Mark (Becky) Orr, both of Winder; and seven grandchildren, Asher, Sarahbeth, Evan, Jesslyn, Clint, Clay, and Ben Orr. The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 with Reverend Ronnie Hewatt officiating.
