Anna Maria Dawon

(nee Schwab)

92, of Windsor passed away peacefully on December 28, 2012. She is survived by her sons, Philipp (Annelise) and Reinhold (Angela) and grandchildren, Ralph, Reiner, Jan and Lucas, all of Germany. Anna was born in Neu-Bielau, Czechoslovakia. She married her husband Philipp in 1939 in Zagrab, Croatia where her son Philip was born. She was forced to leave as a refugee and immigrated with her family to Goppingen, Germany, after WWII, where her son Reinhold was born. Following her husband's death (1963), she immigrated to Canada (1972) which had been the desire of her and her late husband, who had many relatives here. Anna was proud of having both Canadian and German citizenship. Anna was left behind by her special friend and companion, Mike Wellmann (2002). Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Anderson Memorial Chapel.
