After a long and beautiful life, Anna passed away in Windsor, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, W. Wallace Stuart (2004) and her daughter , Susan M. Rossmann (2012); parents Harold (1946) and Eve Mallory (1976); brother, Donnie Mallory (1930) and sister, Merilyn Johnston (2013). Survived by her granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer Rossmann (Cameron McKnight-MacNeil); son-in-law, Michael Rossmann (Carol); niece, Pamela Johnston Hornby; nephews, Gwynne, John (Anne) and Geoffrey Johnston; Ian (Margaret) , John (Karyn) Stuart and Heather (Peter) Bryce. Tenderly remembered by several great nieces, nephews and family in Austria. Anna was born in Brockville, ON and is descended from a United Empire Loyalist, Nathaniel Mallory, who arrived in the area of what is now known as Mallorytown, ON., approximately 1790. Nathaniel’s grandson, Amasa Mallory, started Canada’s first glass factory in 1839. Anna lived in Brockville at 223 King St. E. , next to her beloved St. Lawrence River and moved to Windsor, ON after marrying Wallace Stuart. For several years, Anna was a stenographer for the Dominion Department of Agriculture in Brockville. Anna was a devout Christian who was a long time member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Windsor, ON. She adored her family, bird watching, swimming and travelling abroad. Anna served her community on numerous boards of directors over the years and helped to establish a breakfast program for students in the Windsor School District. She will be dearly missed by close friends including Lanny Joffe, Stephen Kurtz and Jean Brace. Anna greatly enjoyed weekly calls to catch-up with family and friends. A warm thank you to her personal caregivers over the years: Gemma (nearly 18 years), Ann Marie, Liz, Bertha, Joy, Community Nurse Sherry, the Amica Riverside team, Chaplain Rosemary and Dr. Burgess for his compassionate care during Anna’s final journey. Anna’s Funeral Service will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Ave., Windsor, ON N9A 4J5 (519) 254-3223 on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1 p.m. Following the service, there will be a visitation with light reception before proceeding to Victoria Memorial Gardens for the Committal Service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation and /or Brockville Operation Harvest Sharing would be greatly appreciated.
