Betty Anne Drake

Passed away peacefully in her 93rd year. Daughter to Jack and Maude MacDougall. Predeceased by her first husband Reginald Jones (1980) and Vern Drake (2013). Loving step-mother to Bruce Drake and Peggy Aitchison, Carrie and Mike Parent, Pam and Art Drake, John Drake, and Tom Drake. Dear cousin to Bob and Marie Hewitson, Barb Trelford, and Frances Cassidy. Beloved Gram to Sarah and Matthew. Second mom to Virginia Janisse and Darlene Hewitson. Dear best friend to Elva Morris and family for 70 years. She will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. Betty entered into the nursing profession and was trained at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. She was Dr. Breault's nurse from 1950-1971, and also worked at Beacon Hill Lodge from 1981-1990. Betty was very involved in the Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She was also a member at Emmanuel United Church. Visitation will take place at The Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E (519-252-5711), on Monday July 15 from 7-9pm and from 1-2pm on Tuesday July 16. A celebration of Betty's life will follow at 2pm Tuesday July 16 at the funeral home. In memory of Betty donations may be made to Emmanuel United Church.
