Mom's Are Always There For You

Real-life love is what families are all about.

Real-life love is everyday moments and favourite memories,wise words and lessons learned, and hugs.... when you need them most!

It's sticking together when the going gets tough and letting go when someone needs to spread their wings.
  
It's laughter and tears, listening from the heart, and being there for the ones you care about ~ always!

Mom, you showed me so much of what love really means, sometimes with what you'd say or do, sometimes just by being the wise and beautiful person you are.

Thanks for sharing from your heart and making such a difference with all the love you give!

I've lost my Mom, it doesn't seem real.

I took for granted the time we had together,

Mom,

My Mom was Daddy's little girl.  She talked about baseball games that he would take her to when she was a little girl.  She kept that with her through the years and loved it when Dawn & Ryan took her to a few games.  She bragged about what a great cook her Dad  was, but she never took a shinning to his talents.  When my Mom & Dad first got married, they went through a lot of ketchup…. With mom cooking.  My Dad said it made thing edible!  Soon after my Dad started cooking out of sheer survival!  My mom always said that we must have gotten our cooking skills from my Father.

My Mom loved music!  When we were kids, we always cleaned on Saturday mornings and my Mom would have Honey Radio on in the house.  She would get a kick out of the routines we'd make up to the songs and sing into our hair brushes & curling irons.  She loved crocheting, knitting and doing crafts.  My Mom would make baby outfits and booties for the preemies @ the hospital.  She made all of us tree skirts, blankets and slippers.  Made with love for us to treasure always!  She was always there for us, helping us move, make curtains, make Christmas ornaments for my obsession of doing a different colour Christmas every year.

My mom was famous for having pancakes on Fat Tuesday and Corned beef sandwiches on St. Patties Day.  She would serve them all day to make sure that we didn't miss it!  She always looked forward to Firework night @ Brenda's every year!  She was petrified to fly and that drove us crazy because we all love to travel.  My sisters bought her a plane ticket to visit her brother Gord in Florida, knowing she would go because she hated wasting money!  She ended up loving it and went back several times.  Just recently she was able to enjoy a fabulous trip to the Dominican, to see her best friend Madeline's Daughter get married!

My Mom could be difficult at times too!  When shopping, she had to look at everything, even if she wasn't going to buy.  She'd give you her opinion even when you didn't ask for it!  She had a bad memory!  Tell her you're working Saturday and then she calls your house 4 times leaving messages:  “ Where are you?”  Next message, “Why aren't you calling me back?”  Next, “This is your Mother!”  You would call her back and she'd say, “Oh, sorry!  I forgot!”  That can be frustrating, but looking at the big picture….. She cared enough to call!

There will be many memories of my Mom that I will remember: her as a wife, caring Mom, grandmother, sister and friend!  I hope that my Mom knows that we will miss her very much and that we will be okay.  She raised 4 strong willed children and we will carry on, as will her memory in each and every one of us!  She's in a better place now without pain and suffering. 

 This is not Good-bye, but see you later!  Until our journey ends and we meet again, just remember Mom….. Put the kettle on!

May you find comfort in knowing that your mom lives on - in you and in others who were blessed to have known her.

Sheri, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, and I know that Dalton was her cherished grandson who meant so much to her. I remember you being the first familiar face from work when I lost my Mom, and your kind words of comfort and what a good and kind heart you have.
