I have been thinking of you and your family since I heard of Carmen's passing.  I always remember him as a kind, funny, endearing man.  He will be greatly missed I'm sure.  I hope the love and support of family and friends helps ease your heavy heart at this time and in the coming days. May God show you the sun shine in the days ahead.

Life is full of challenges one of the biggest is having to go through losing a loved one.  On 9-11-2001 many heroes lost their lives making that day one that will never be forgotten.  On 9-11-2016 an unfortunate event took place that took the life of one of the good guys. Carmen set the bar high for all men. The love he gave to Rose and their kids was like no other.  He touched many hearts.  I had the opportunity to come out and spend a few days this week to support Rose and was so touched to witness his friends and family come together.  Hearing stories and seeing photos of his life was really special.  Carmen will be missed but certainly not forgotten.  I feel very privileged  to have had the opportunity to know Carmen and I am very honored to have been able to call him family.  Carmen Owens is one of the good guys!!! I am heart broken that his life was so short.  Rose you and the kids will be on my mind and in my prayers I love you very much.  Sorry I had to leave, but I am grateful for the chance to see you and the kids!  You got this Cuz!!!

Rose, I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Carmen, a man who I know meant the world to you.  As your husband and friend I know you two of you were inseparable and that is a true depiction of the love you shared. I first met Carmen when I was 18 years old and sneaking into bars like Penrods, O'Tooles, Spinners and others.  I remember him as being bigger than life, strutting around the clubs, showing off his dance moves, making people smile and laugh.  We became friends over the years, and although at times, distance kept us apart, whenever we did get together, it was like no time had passed, and we were able to share our love of old school hip hop and remember the good old days...I remember when myself and my family along with some friends were recently invited to a backyard BBQ at their home, when I hooked up his sound system to my laptop and started playing some old school jams.  "Boy you better have Parliament Funkadelic" he said to me...I had never heard of it..."It's the black person's national anthem!!"  he said...well doing a quick search of my song library, I did have that song, so I blasted it, and he started to jam, just like he did when we were younger.  Everyone smiled and laughed and joined in.  Those are the memories I will always have when I think of Carmen Owens!!  Love you brother and will miss you, and much love goes out to Rose and the kids through this difficult time!!
