Christopher Ronald Bent

Christopher Ronald Bent, son of Harry Sponagle Bent and Muriel Mae Miller, was born 23 April 1948 at Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His only sibling, wives, children and grandchildren all survived him and their identities are not given out of concern for their privacy.

Christopher grew up in what is now Halifax Regional Municipality in the county localities of Rockingham and Birch Cove, as well as the City of Halifax for a few years. He attended Rockingham School until Grade Four. Then Grosvenor School for Grade Five, back to Rockingham School for Grade Six, Wentworth School for Grade Seven and graduated Grade Eight from Rockingham School, where he was class president and valecdictorian.

Beginning with Grade Nine, Christopher attended Hallifax West Municipal High School by school bus each morning. He became the school newspaper editor while in Grade 12 but, due to health issues with the people with whom he was boarding, his parents made the decision to transfer him to Kitchener, Ontario, where Christopher’s father had been transferred. Settling into a grade level in Ontario was challenging due to an additional Grade level Thirteen in Ontario for university level entrance.

As per Christophers wishes, cremations has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Andersons Funeral Home.
