Constantin "Gus" Spyropoulos

Born September 8, 1927 in Greece. Immigrated to Canada in 1952. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 16, 2010. Beloved husband of 53 years to wife Maria (nee Prinia). Loving father to Rita and husband Peter Bastounas, John Spyropoulos and wife Kim, Nick Spyropoulos, Betsy and husband John Lausch. Dear grandfather to Steven Bastounas and wife Danielle, Mary and husband Michali Petridis. Great grandfather to Yianni Petridis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law from Canada, USA and Greece. Gus was a chef and retired from Grecian Gardens in Greektown, Detroit, Michigan. He was also a member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church and a volunteer at the Hellenic Banquet Hall for many years. Special thanks to all the staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital for the care and compassion provided. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue (519-254-3223) on Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thrice Holy Hymn service Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 65 Ellis Street East for time of Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Rev Fr Stavros Chatzis officiating.
