76 years. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Windsor regional Hospital Ouellette Campus with his best friend David by his side. Beloved son of the late John (2003) & Margaret (1996) Petro. Derek will be sadly missed by his best friend/brother David Salusny, his nieces Sheila Van Hooren & husband Matt, Katherine Salusny, his extended family Andy, Adam, Michael and Jennifer Salusny, & family, and his good friend Vic Michalczuk. Derek retired from Canada Post after 30+ years of dedicated service. He was the Grand Sheik of the Another Fine Mess tent of the International Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society as well as an active member of Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church. Derek also surrounded himself with music through his guitar, record collection and his 3 jukeboxes. Visitation at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue, (519) 254-3223 on Monday July 11, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3200 Woodland Avenue, Windsor on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., follow by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Rev.
