Beloved wife of the late John Earl Murphy (1990), Dear companion of the late Douglas Johnson (2015). Beloved mother of Janet & Richard Giffen, Nancy & Myron Shulgan, Linda & Tom Gelinas, Kathie Drummond (Harry,1997) & Gerry Rocchi, Debbie & Denis Lauzon. Dear grandmother of 12 grandchildren and great grandmother of 19. Predeceased by her devoted brothers Dr. Ken James and John James. Survived by her sisters-in-law June James, Louise James, Joan Murphy, Ellie Murphy as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was an avid volunteer throughout her life, receiving recognition as a United Way Volunteer of the Year. She was a Past President of the Windsor Essex Real Estate Board, a member of Major FA Tilston Chapter I.O.D.E., board member of the Windsor Western Hospital, Founding Member of the Riverside Home & School Association, volunteer with the Grace Hospital Auxiliary and the Art Gallery of Windsor. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Chancel Guild of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Mary was an enthusiastic golfer, lawn bowler and bridge player. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church and a recent member of St. James Anglican Church and will be missed by her many friends there. Mary lived her life as an example of faith, love and courage. She leaves an amazing legacy in her family. Special thanks to the staff of Kensington Court and a very special thanks to the staff of Riverside Place, Peche Unit for filling her last year with love. Visitation will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. East (519) 252-5711 on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 1983 St. Mary’s Gate on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Anglican Churchyard.
