Peacefully on February 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husbands Ross Decker (2008) and Robert G. Howe (1964). Elaine leaves behind her daughters Judy (Duke) Schneider, Margo (David) Howe, Carol (Brad) Miller, and her sons Robert (Lisa) Howe and Rick (Karen) Howe. She is predeceased by her son Kenneth Howe (2006); her sister Rosemary Eleanor Gordon (1997) and her brother Allan James Prier (2015). Elaine is survived by her brother Robert Prier of Halifax, Nova Scotia, by 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 578 and Branch 12 serving in the Women’s Auxiliary. Elaine was also a proud member of the United Church and a lifetime Bell Pioneer. Visitation will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E. on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a Women’s Auxiliary Legion Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Walkerville Room. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
