Frances Iris Mosey

October 27, 1924May 12, 2020

After a long and well-lived life, Frances passed away on May 12, 2020, at the age of 95.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lyle in 2017, after 71 years of marriage. Fran was a dedicated, devoted mom to her five children Lynn, Terry (Sandy), Greg (Tracy), Doug (Jenny) and Bruce (1955-1964). Our mother was a compassionate, generous lady, a pillar of strength for her family. She instilled morals, manners, and life lessons in her children that will never be forgotten. We will miss our mother dearly, but take great solace that she will be reunited with our father, and her son Bruce. She cherished her 3 grandchildren: Mindy (Ryan), Melissa (Joris), and Dr. Garrett Mosey (Hannah). She was always excited to hear the latest news about her 4 great grandchildren: Vera, Logan, Jakob, and Maeve Iris (her namesake). Frances is survived by her sister Valerie MacMillan, and sisters-in-law Cynthia Cross, Betty Kimball, Muriel Latimer, and Joan Mosey. She was pre-deceased by her twin brother Frank Cross, and her siblings Jack Cross and Trudy Crowder.

After raising her own children, Fran spent many enjoyable years working with children in the school system as a Teacher’s Aide, and also as a Girl Guide leader. Fran and Lyle enjoyed 26 wonderful years of retirement as snowbirds at their condo in Port Richey, Florida. Always an adventurer at heart, she enjoyed travelling the world, cruising, concerts, socializing, dancing, card clubs, and family celebrations. Our mother was an enthusiastic traveler, and never lost her wanderlust for travel. She especially loved Christmas time, and “all things royal” (a nod to her British heritage). Our mother stayed informed, and up to date on local news and current events until her final days. We are proud of the way that mom lived her life these past 3 years at Amica Riverside.

We want to give thanks to the staff at Amica, and her PSW’s from ParaMed.

With the health and safety of our loved ones in mind, a private graveside service was held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Leamington and a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

If so desired, donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor. But in keeping with Fran’s generous spirit, doing a simple random act of kindness, would be much appreciated.

I wish to extend my condolences to Frances' family on their sad loss. For many years I had the absolute privilege of working with Fran when she was a Teacher's Aid. She was a wonderful lady with such a positive attitude . The children & staff loved the opportunity to interact with her. Her caring , kind spirit was an inspiration. She treated those young students in her care as she would her own children , lovingly guiding them & instilling morals, manners & life lessons as well as providing effective assistance with their studies.
May she rest in peace.

Very few ever reach the age of 95. Truly a long and well lived life, which is of great comfort to the entire Mosey family. Frances will be missed.

Dear Lynn and family,
Your Mom was such a delight to see. I looked forward to seeing the two of you, and chatting and laughing. Her sense of humour and demeanour was infectious. I’m sure she will be greatly missed.
What a lovely write up on her life; and I love the thought of random acts of kindness as her legacy.
You were so lucky to have had her❣️
