For many of us students, Mr. Vindischman is the first person to ever teach us what the "real world" is like. He taught us how to be professional, how to be confident and assertive in reaching our goals, and ultimately prepared us for the many challenges we will face in our lives. I can say for myself and for my fellow classmates that he had a profound impact in shaping our professional careers. 

To the forever mentally ageless Mr. Vindischman, we will always cherish the memories you shared with us. Thank you.

We miss you for all the efforts you put into the co-op program, helping high school boys to experience real work before deciding their future adventures.

We miss you for placing young, eager hearts into our company, putting teenagers' touch to our marketing campaign.

We miss you for arranging job opportunities and career advice to our children, acting as a silent mentor to their careers.

We miss you for the patience you dealt with kids going astray, kindly steer them back on track, else they would have become a burden to the society -------Oh, it is one of those unsung heroic deeds that only heaven above would notice.

We miss you for you advice on keeping fit, getting me into a diet that moulds me into a fit, lasting shape -------- Oh so ironic that your body does not allow to be tamed.

We miss you for being so friendly, a 15-year friendship with no barrier, a friend that we can approach should we need help. 

We miss you for being so humble and down to earth, lamenting with us on your soft spots in life. 

We miss your bi-monthly phone calls with us even after you moved to Windsor ------- Oh, how dumb were we to let 4 months slipped past us, and then, it is too late. 

We miss you, Larry.  We truly miss you.

Larry Taught me in 1992 and was a wonderful man and mentor. He taught me one thing that I always live by, never to cut corners with anything, because in the end it will always cost more time...or money.

Larry, I am very glad that I had a chance to email you just recently and we talked about the fun times. I will never forget our wild ride in the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo together or the fun modifications that I did to your computer ( " You Screwed Up Again Larry " ). I was very sad to hear of your passing, but ask the Lord often to take good care of your soul. Rest in Peace My Friend !!!!!

As much as I'd hoped to be, I never had the good fortune to be in one of Mr. Vindischman's classes when I was a student at Brebeuf. Years later, however, I joined the staff as a Special Ed. teacher and got to know him on a personal level. I always admired his suave style as a student. It naturally oozed from his unpretentious swagger. And I appreciated getting to know his gentler side in recent years. He was a kind and caring teacher and an easy person to talk to. 

My most memorable day with Larry was spent on a school trip to Richmond Hill. With about 40 students in tow, at one point during the day we were walking along some train tracks, a route Larry had taken previous classes on dozens of time before during these yearly trips, always believing it to be an abandoned railway line. Turns out it wasn't. Blind to its approach, an unexpected train roared around a bend in the tracks. The conductor blasted the horn with mere seconds to spare. Literally in the nick of time, students  instinctively dove off the tracks. Luckily no one was hurt. Mr. Vindischman sure took some heat from parents the following day, but he took it like a champ. I'll miss him, as I know many others will.

Many vacations with the Vinn - skiing and Florida trips - always fun. His health was failing over the past few years but he was always smiling and positive in attitude.
Larry always bragged about his two children (David & Catherine) and loved them very much and always had wonderful things to say about his sister (Karen) and her husband Peter. Also very proud of his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

I was very upset to hear that Mr. Vindischman, my favourite high school teacher, had passed away.

I had Mr. Vindischman during co-op and in Grade 9 geography. He definitely had a huge impact on me and taught one confused and awkward 16-year-old a great deal about life. 

His musings have made me the person I am today. He was also the only teacher who decided to teach class outside one day, after we realized it was a beautiful day, yet we were stuck in a windowless room next to the gym.

Sir, you will be greatly missed.

My first meeting with Larry as a colleague at Brebeuf College was a captivating one-his energy, smile stories and sense of adventure were infectious. His dedication and motivation to students in the Co-Op Program was profound in and out of the school.Larry was the "go to guy" for ideas,materials and just to sit and have a beer with.He was also one sharp dresser.Good thoughts and prayers to family.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I was a student in Larry's first year co-op. He believed in me and supported me way beyond the call of duty. He was a huge influencer in my life at that time and truly set me up for success in life.  I know he did the same for many others.  The world is most definitely a better place thanks to his contributions.  Rest in peace.

Larry sent me students for 15 years as part of the Brebuef co-op. He pushed and prodded and did what was necessary to get the students an experience to help them with their future choices. It was a pleasure knowing and working with him.

I was in Larry's Gr. Geography class in Gr. 9 at Brebeuf College School in Toronto. I quickly saw his dedication to his students and we all loved him humour and advice. It was a pleasure being taught by him. When I returned to the school as a teaching colleague, Larry was a mentor and friend. His commitment to helping his students was always evident to me, and I admired him. He was always available for a chat, ready with advice and a story and a smile! Rest in peace, Larry.

The Brebeuf Alumni Associtaion offers its condolences to Larry's family. Larry taught thousands of boys at Brebeuf from 1987 until his retirement. He was inspirational to his students in the classroom and in the co-op programme. He will be missed very much. Larry will be in the prayers of the school. God bless.

I learned a lot from Mr. Vindischman. He founded an exceptional co-op program at Brebeuf. He won't be forgotten by me or the hundreds of kids he taught how to give a proper handshake or how to tell a story. Years after graduating, I was in some trouble and Mr.Vindischman went out of his way to see if he could help me out. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

Larry you were a good friend and such fun to be with at Brebeuf.  I still remember so many fun times.  I can't think of you in your office without seeing the magical photos of your granddaughter who looked so much like you that it just made us all giggle.  It was hard to tell you, a grown man that you were soooo cute, but that little girl's face made us see inside you!  I'm sorry I don't know which one it was, probably your first  (1992 - 1996) and I'm certain the ones who followed were just as wonderful.  Eternal blessings on you.  Nancy Griffin

Jack and I are just devastated  by the passing of our wonderful friend Larry.  We loved him so much and little we did we know when we had him over for dinner a few weeks ago it would be our last visit together. Larry was always so sweet and gentle and always full of compliments, especially about my cooking.  He made us laugh and  I loved talking to him about anything.  It truly was an honor to be his friend.  We will miss you our dear sweet  friend.  It was just too early for you to leave all of us here.
