

83, of Monroe, Michigan passed away on August 17, 2010 at Fountain View Nursing Center, Monroe Michigan. She had been in declining health for several years and seriously ill for the past month. Margaret was a kind and compassionate woman, who worked hard at every opportunity she was given. She was a very independent woman who never asked anyone for anything, but was always at the ready to help someone if she could.
Margaret was born in Canada on September 8, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario. Her parents were Muyrel (Bradley) and Norman MacDonald. She was the oldest of three girls. Margaret attended Hugh Beaton Grade School and graduated from Windsor High School in June of 1944.
Margaret worked for Ford Motor Company in Windsor right out of high school as a bookkeeper. Margaret married Edward Gilbert Jolliffe, and they owned and operated their own business. After the death of her husband in 1966, Margaret worked for Surveyor, Angelo Marino, of Monroe as a Bookkeeper until 1985. From 1985 until 2005, Margaret worked for C & M Trucking, Monroe, Michigan also as a bookkeeper. Her attention to detail was impeccable and she kept track of the business finances as if they were her own. No finer bookkeeper could ever be found.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Monroe, Michigan, where she was a past member of their Altar Guild. She took much pride in preparing the sanctuary for worship every Sunday.
In addition to being highly skilled at organization and maintaining business finances and records, Margaret had the gift of decorating and design. She loved the colors “pink” and “orchid,” and utilized them in her decorations whenever she could.
Margaret had a love for sports. She enjoyed watching Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey, Detroit Tigers Baseball, and the Detroit Pistons Basketball Games on the television.
She also loved to watch TV, read novels and bake desserts.
In addition to her husband, Edward, and her parents, Norman and Muyrel, Margaret was preceded in death by her two sisters, Gretta (John) Norman; and Lois (Glenn) Rudling. She is survived by a nephew, Russell (Rusty) Rudling of Windsor, Ontario.
A graveside service will be held at Victoria Memorial Gardens, HWY 3, Oldcastle, Ontario on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. where she will be buried next to her husband, Edward. The Hospice Care Team at Mercy-Memorial Hospice and the Staff at Fountain View Nursing Home made Margaret’s last days the very best that they could be as they gave her tender-loving care each and every day.
