April 15, 1922 – January 8, 2021
Olivia passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 8, 2021.
She was born in the Lazio region of Italy. In 1952, she sailed to the North American continent with her two eldest children to join her husband, Louie, to start their new life. Years later, they added two daughters to their family. Olivia cared for her home and family. She helped raise grandchildren. Later, she travelled on pilgrimages with the catholic movement for world causes. She was independent and enjoyed holidays and spending quality time with her children. When the devastation of the border closings came, due to the pandemic, our safety was her priority. The frontline heroes at Banwell Gardens coordinated our weekly virtual visits. Olivia always smiled and was content to see us safe.
Olivia is predeceased by her husband, Louie of 50 years (1994), her son, Nick Ignagni (2007), Louisa, daughter, Anna Muto (2013), and her son-in-laws, Guilio (2007), Philip (1993) and Douglas (2011). She is survived by her two daughters, Dominica Naccarato and husband, Carmen, of Alberta and Mary Cash and fiancé, Mitchell Gendloff, of Michigan, grandchildren; Teri, Sam, Sonya, Mike, Steve, Prapti, John, TammyJo, Olivia, Nick, Camille, Darran, Melissa, Chris, Michelle, and Sandy, great-grandchildren; Mark, Gabriella, Scott, Alexander, Luke, Nickolas, Alexis, Chaz, John, C.J., Even, Natalia, Simona, Guilia, and Vanessa, all living in the United States and Canada.
Many thanks to the staff at Banwell Gardens for their care and friendship to Mom and to the staff of Met Hospital for bridging our families together. A private family service was held and she was entombed at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Windsor. Donations in memory of Olivia may be made to Banwell Gardens Long Term Care Facility or to Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus.
We say farewell to our matriarch. She leaves behind her legacy of kindness, compassion, courage and strength. Bye Mom.
