It has been many years since I have seen either of you, but I have many, many good memories of working with both of you at the Windsor Star.  My condolences on the passing of your sister.

I remember Mrs Horstead from Dougall Pubic School she was a wonderful teacher the kids just loved her. She had a heart of gold. She would help any one who needed help.She would bring a smile to your face every time. I always wanted her to teach my son but she retired before then.She was a wonderful example what a teacher should be kind and loving how she spoke and how she taught every child wanted to be in her class if she had her way she would teach them all that is how much of a caring person she is. Pat will be missed but not forgotten but now she with our Lord and he will protect her and watch over her now so she is in good hands.

Missing you is easy, I will do it every day, But not having you around, will be a heartache that never goes away. 

I was very fortunate to have shared part of my life with Pat. She was an amazing woman and truly one of a kind.

Sooo very sorry to hear of Mrs. Horstead's passing. She taught me in Brock almost 43 years ago. She definitely was one of those teachers that stood out and that everyone wished they had. Many good memories,even though I was so young. I can still picture the classroom that she had and  the smell of fresh crayons. She spent so much time at Brock School, that she even taught my children, who also loved her. She had a beautiful spirit. May the wonderful memories of her always be with you and remember how her spirit touched sooooo many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Laurel

my condolences to the family and friends..mrs.horstead as we all called her was one of the coolest and nicest teachers we on the westend called her..she will be sadly missed..my prayers go out to her family.

I will always remember Pat with a smile.  We had such great fun together through the years. "Never fear when Pat is here!" I will miss you, my friend.

Everyone has a teacher that spent a little more time on them. A person that polished the diamond until it shined.
Back in grade 1 I had Pat Horstead. I couldn't tell you what I had for dinner last week but at 27 years old I remember making purple stew and sea shell surprise. Miss Horstead had the patience and took the time to teach me how to spell and write my name.
Not only was she a teacher but she was a family friend. I was lucky enough to see her a few months ago at my gram's wake and give her a hug and say 'Thank you'.
I only know how she has affected my life with her teachings, I can't imagine how many other people have those memories.
Rest in paradise Pat Horstead.

I will always cherish the many great memories we had at work and at our Friday night choir practices (lol).  Pat fought a good battle, but the fight is over now.  Rest in peace.  Goodbye forever, my dear friend.

Pat was the kindest, funniest, most steadfast friend and an amazing teacher. She always had a good word to say about everyone, she always had a quip or funny saying or a song to sing. She was the life of the party. She fought a courageous battle and taught us to appreciate each moment we have with our family and friends. I love and admire her for so many reasons. It was a joy to share a grade one class at Dougall with Pat. She put a smile on my face every day no matter what was happening in the rooms. We all will miss her upbeat and humorous stories.
