November 25, 1934 – February 3, 2021
Sarah Perrotte (née Julien) Peacefully in her home on February 3rd, 2021, at the age of 86, Sarah - beloved mother and grandmother - passed away, once again joining her cherished husband, Dennis (1979). Born in St. George’s, Grenada, West Indies, Dennis and Sarah came to Canada in the 1960s. Sarah was predeceased by her parents Fitz-Albert and Iona Julien (Prescott), and brother Wilson (1977). A devoted mother, she will be sadly missed by sons Melvin (Barbara), David (Jennifer), Brian (Leslie), and Ryan.
Sarah was also the adored grandmother of Michael, Ayzjah, Ashanique, Jezsiah, and J’zariah-rayn. Extended family and friends across Canada, the United States, England, and the Caribbean will remember her genuine laughter, spirit, and love. All who have been part of Sarah’s life no doubt felt blessed, and will continue to in her memory, as anyone who witnessed the twinkle in her eye which gave way to a further profundity of personality will smile with the reminiscence always.
After studying in England, Sarah began a remarkable five-decade career as a registered nurse. For three of those decades, patients at the former Hotel Dieu Hospital (now Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus) were fortunate enough to experience her natural healing gifts of knowledge, compassion, and grace. She gave her heart and soul to her calling as an RN; epitomizing professionalism, kindness, and care beyond all reproach. Revered by her fellow nursing colleagues, doctors and staff, many today still reflect on her undisputed efficiency and stewardship.
Sarah’s family would like to sincerely express their gratitude to each organization that provided care over the last several years: the remarkable staff at Windsor Regional Hospital – specifically floors 7 and 8 at the Ouellette Campus, Metropolitan Hospital, Grace Hospital Tayfour Campus - Home Instead, Paramed, St. Elizabeth Health Care, the Victorian Order of Nurses, and Bayshore HealthCare. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to Aiva Shamo, whose tender care and love brought so much joy to our mother’s life, that words lack to fully express her tireless dedication and significance. Sarah will now be laid to rest in her birth country, alongside her husband, brother, father, and mother.
The family recognizes that many would like to offer their condolences, and share their grief and stories together; however, the current restrictions on gatherings limit this opportunity. We ask you to remember Sarah and family in your prayers, and fondly in your memories, hoping that the future will provide us with a favourable occasion to congregate and celebrate her everlasting life. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus (formerly Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital) in loving memory of Sarah.
