Sofia Georgiou

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Sofia, on October 25, 2022 at the age of 89. Born September 18, 1933 in Tourje Macedonia. She emigrated to Windsor, Ontario with her four children in 1966 to join her husband. Predeceased by her loving husband, Chris (1971). Survived by her four children, Leta Mitrevski (Trajan), Freda Ioannou (Paul), Teresa Panou (Chris), and Paul Georgiou (Connie). Cherished Baba to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Our mother was the ever-strong foundation that kept our family safe and secure despite the many hardships she faced. Her presence will be missed dearly and so will her rice pudding and homemade pizza.

Visitation for Sofia will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with Prayers taking place at 7:30 PM Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5225 Howard Avenue, LaSalle, Ontario. Interment to follow at Windsor Grove Cemetery.
