Thomas (Trajan) Sapardanis

(born Shapardanov) born in Bouf, Macedonia on February 14, 1934, died peacefully at the age of 86 on February 1, 2021 of natural causes. Predeceased by his parents Lazor and Maria (nee Georgiovski). Beloved husband of Vatsa (Vicky; nee Popova) (2015). Loving father of Christopher (Lianne), Steven (Lynn) and Sophia Hnidei (Stephen). Dear Dedo to Erika, Aleksei, Ashley, Lauren and Amanda. Dear brother to Mitra Grougios (Aristidi), Fania Thompson and Anastasia Maloney. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In 1950 he immigrated to Canada and made his way to Windsor where remained for the rest of his life. He was a longtime member of the Macedonian Soccer Club of Windsor, Ontario. Tom courted his future wife, Vicky (Vatsa), who was living in Hamilton. Tom was a loving husband and father who devoted his life to his family. Tom and Vatsa were proud of their Macedonian heritage. While devoted to his family, Tom was a strong contributor to civil society. He was a lifelong promoter of the Macedonian language and culture in Canada and devoted his energies to the Bouf's Mutual Benefit Association of Windsor, Ontario. Like his father, Tom was an active, supportive and founding member the St. Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church. He and Vicky looked forward to singing in the church choir for many years. Tom worked at Ford Motor Company before purchasing with partners Studio Four, then he and Vicky became owners of the Ottawa Tavern until they retired. Visitation (by appointment only) will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Ave. on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. As per restrictions on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only those with a confirmed appointment time will be permitted to attend the visitation. Masks are mandatory at all times while within the establishment.
