Passed away with much love and sadness after a three year courageous battle with cancer with her younger brother John Basich at her side. She was the youngest daughter of the late Pero (1988) and Mara (1985) Basich. She was predeceased by her older sister Anne Basich (2009). Dear cousin of Risto Basich & family, Sonya Micic & family, all of Toronto. Violet formed many close friendships over her 30 years working at the former Hotel Dieu Hospital. She was a trusted and compassionate person who touched people, especially those facing difficult times, with her unselfish generosity. Her passions and interests included reading and the enjoyment of the Theatre and Arts. We would like to thank Violet's oncologist Dr. Kay and a special thanks the nurses and support staff of the Karmanos Cancer Clinic and Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. In keeping with Violet's wishes, a Private Funeral Service was held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. John The Divine Orthodox Church attended by her family, relatives and close friends.
