Wendy Rose Marie MacDonald

August 2, 1953September 22, 2020

67 years. Passed away September 22, 2020 at Regency Park Nursing Home.

Predeceased by her parents William (2000) and Mary MacDonald nee Drennan (2006). Survived by her siblings Debbie Hanley (Ron) and Alred MacDonald. Dear Aunt to Brandy Robert (David Sr.), Tiffini Hanley and Maggie MacDonald. Great Aunt to David Jr, Nia and Ani. Wendy’s life story is one of redemption and transformation by the power of the cross of Jesus Christ who “made everything beautiful in its time” about her. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Wendy’s love walk was made perfect through suffering, becoming more and more like Christ, a servant of the Master. All the while she rejoiced in Him, her Redeemer, her greatest treasure, the pearl of great price, the wellspring of her soul. She was grateful for every day in spite of the physical suffering that she went through, and taught so many around her how resilient the saving faith is, prevailing through hardships, sustaining through any season, loving when almost nothing else could be expressed.

She was a prayer warrior for the Regency Park Nursing Home, wheeling herself alongside people needing the sunshine of her smile, loving them in soft and quiet ways, reassuring them that Jesus loves them and they are precious, writing welcoming cards for every new resident. She loved making crafts, especially for Christmas and Easter and then offer them with a twinkle in her eye and a big smile, together with beautifully chosen words for the occasion. Wendy is a precious jewel in the crown of Jesus Christ, and all who came to her to seek godly wisdom and prayer have received it, along with love and compassion.

She ran her faith race with perseverance, guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, with her eyes set on the hope of glory, steadfast focused to take a hold of what Jesus took a hold of her for. And now, with the crown of life on her head and arrayed in heavenly beauty, with no pain and sorrow, in the presence of her Savior and King she discovers what “no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Dear family, may your hearts be comforted according to the word that says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, shed His peace in your hearts on Wendy's passing.

Wendy' s life was victorious, and its victorious quality was not in something that you would show in earthly conquests, but in that that she stood like a faithful soldier in the victory that was won at the cross by her Saviour and King, Jesus Christ, and finished well. I believe with all my heart based on the promises of God which never fail that she departed from the body to be present with her Lord. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2Corinthians5:8)

"He who began a good work in you will carry it onto completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6) Jesus started a good work in Wendy, completed it in the Spirit and the soul, and soon, at His return, she and all God's children will receive the glorious bodies, the resurrection bodies, imperishable and everlasting and enjoying the Lord forever.
What is the meaning of life? I heard it said well: "To know the Lord and enjoy Him forever"
