William Alfred Thompson

Passed away peacefully on December 29, 2010 at Huron Lodge at the age of 91. William was born on April 15, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan. Beloved husband of the late Rita (nee Drouillard) (2002). Dearest father of Susan Pettinato and the late Roger Beaulieu (2006), Arlene Thompson and the late Glenn Watkins (2008), Carol and husband Ted Bowers. Treasured grandfather to Tracey, Jason, Matthew, Jill, Wendy, and Tiffany. Great grandfather to Jacob, Bakir, Jenna, Jack and William. Loving brother of Margaret MacKenzie. William retired from Chrysler Canada in 1974. Mr Thompson was a licensed short wave radio operator VE3 FQY and thoroughly enjoyed woodworking. He touched the hearts of many with his generosity, sense of humour and willingness to help others. His sharp memory was an inspiration to all. The family would like to thank Dr. Greenaway and the staff at Huron Lodge for their kindness and understanding. At William's request their will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.
