

She was raised on the Peavine Ranch in Smoky Valley, located in Nye County, Nevada. While there, she attended a one room schoolhouse with her siblings and other ranch hand children. Later, she moved to Tonopah where she graduated from Tonopah High school. Upon completion of Business College, she was employed as a legal secretary for the law firm of Rose, Edward and Hunt located in Las Vegas.
She could never lose the feeling of living in a small town, so she moved with her two young sons back to Tonopah in 1977. During her time in Tonopah, she was employed with Nye County School District as a Supervisor for the Payroll/Personnel Department.
Upon meeting Craig, her partner for life; she moved to Winnemucca and was employed by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office as the Office Manager, Fiscal/Coordinator until her retirement in December 2006.
Cheri loved being around family/friends and all the adventures that life brought her way. She cared for all, but her true joy in life was her grandchildren. Many laughs, stories and memories were shared between them.
Numerous words can be used to describe Cheri, but three that standout: Strength, which she showed over the last several years, Loyalty, without question, to all her family and friends, Humor, with a quick easy smile and a contagious laugh. One of her favorite sayings was "Falling Down is part of Life; Getting back up is Living". She lived this motto on a daily basis throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Farstveet; sons; Travis (Gaye) Terras, Tim (Lynn) Terras, stepchildren; Chad Farstveet, Monica (John) Maher, Kari Jo (Tom) Narduzzo, mother; Virginia (Glenn) Woods, siblings: LaMont (Sandra) Jensen, Yvonne Jensen, Raymond (Elaine) Jensen, Marie (Dave) Morby, ten grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
