Mary was born on Aiken street in the small house across the street from Winnemucca grammar school. In Winnemucca Nevada
Her parents names were John and Damiana Mentaberry.
She had 8 siblings
She had 1 older brother (John), and 7 younger siblings Annie,Fausto,Delores,Henry,George,David and Eddie
Mary worked hard on the ranch growing up and helped raise her 7 younger brothers and sisters.
Mary won numerous awards in her rifle shooting club for accuracy
Mary attended Humboldt County High school in Winnemucca Nevada
Mary loved being with her brothers and sisters when they were growing up
Mary became friends with her sororiety sisters, golfing ladies/men, Altar society and catholic church members, Basque club members and many others. She was well known and loved in Winnemucca.
She was married to John Iruretaguena later shortend to Yrueta, on December 31, 1937 at St Pauls Catholic Church in Winnemucca Nevada.
Mary had 2 daughters Deanna and Ruby
She had 4 grandchildren, Steven&Tina Prida, and John&Joe Lowery
Mary had 4 great grandchildren Brandon&Courtney Hurst, and Kyla&Malia Lowery
She was a bookeeper/Secretary for the Humboldt County School district, she also worked at Ramaseo's jewelry store, and the Winnemucca community college
Mary's hobbies were reading,golfing (she began at the age of 69),traveling,crochet,and taking classes at the community college
She loved basketball,and target shooting
She was a member of the GAA and Rifle Club
She was an active member of the OLV, Church Club, Altar society. Eskualdunak Danak Basque club, REPM, Beta Sima Phi Sororiety, and Womans golf club
Mary was a proud member of the Republican Party
She was a member of St Pauls Catholic Church for 95 years
Mary traveled to Alaska,Europe, (she especially liked the Basque country in Spain),Germany,France,Italy,Switzerland, and Hawaii
Mary retired in her 70's, in her home town on Winnemucca Nevada where she took pleasure in golfing,attending church,and taking her classes at the community college
Mary passed away in Yerington Nevada
She had a lived a long and full life, and was ready to make her last journey at age 95.
She is survived by her daughters Deanna Prida and Ruby Lowery, Son in laws Bob Prida and Bill Lowery, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
Her services were at St Pauls Catholic Church in Winnemucca Nevada
She was laid to rest at the Winnemucca Cemetery in the Catholic section.
