It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Abzal Mohammed, with his family by his side.
He passed away July 3, 2021 at the age of 74. He will be cherished by his family and friends
Abzal is survived by his wife, Carla Mohammed and their sons Rolf and Richard Mohammed; daughter-in-law Misha Brown; grandsons Caden Brown and Sebastian Mohammed, brothers and sisters, Fyzal, Zorina Mahadeo, Nazerene, Shafaroon, Hasheroon, Larry and Gary Mohammed, brother-in-law Johnny Mahadeo, sisters-in-law Radika Mohammed, Joyce Mohammed, Usha Mohammed and Sandra Mohammed; nephew and nieces Robert and Ken Mahadeo, Sabrina Wegert and Derek Mohammed, Sarah and Leah Jagessar, Natasha and Shaun Mohammed, Shazard, Fawaz and Faziyah Mohammed.
He is predeceased by his mother Zalimoon Mohammed, father Shahid Mohammed and his brother Shahadil Mohammed.
Abzal was born in Trinidad and Tobago, July 23, 1946. He met his wife Carla in 1965, they got married in 1970 and had their first son Rolf in 1971. They moved to Winnipeg in 1972 and had their second son Richard in 1976.
His only goal in life was to make his family happy, in which he was successful.
Once in Winnipeg, his first job was with Datson Furniture manufacturing. Over his twelve years working there, he built a close relationship with his employers, Mel and Marlene. They admired him for his work ethic and the man he was.
After Datson, he moved on to Purolator Courier, where he worked for 30 years, and would retire. Over his years at Purolator he was admired, loved and respected by everyone he worked with.
Once retired, his focus was on his family’s happiness. He was a man that whoever he met he left them with a lasting impression of love, and kindness. Above all things, the most important was his unconditional love for his wife.
Abzal was fulfilled with what he accomplished in life. He will be cherished by everyone he touched.
