It is with great sadness that the family of Adriano Pablo Maog, Jr. eighty-nine (89) years old of Winnipeg, Manitoba went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 23, 2022 due to heart and kidney failure.
Adriano (or ‘Dianing’ as he was fondly called) will be lovingly remembered as a kind-hearted, generous, faithful, selfless, gracious, dedicated husband to his wife, children, relatives and friends.
Dianing was born in Victorias, Negros Occidental, Philippines to Adriano Alcala Maog, Sr. and Ignacia Velasquez Pablo in Negros Occidental, Philippines. After he graduated from Victorias High School in 1952, he went to help in their family business as a bus conductor for some years before moving to Manila to be with his sister, Adelaida (‘Aida’) and older brothers Alfonso and Eleuterio (‘Terry’) to find work and study Engineering (BS Electronics and Communications) at Feati University.
It was during his school’s Junior-Senior Prom where he met his wife, Myda Javelosa Jimena but only after 15 years that they got married and went to have four children: Jay, Jeanila, Julius and Jerry.
Due to some challenges working and schooling to fend himself and his family, he was not able to complete his degree in engineering and instead concentrated in working. His first few jobs as a radio technician were at RECHO (Radio Electronic Headquarters Co.) and RadioWealth.
His third and last employer until he retired in the Philippines was at PLDT (Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.) as a supervisor in the Installation and Repair Dept. where enjoyed working for 35 years.
A few months after his retirement in 1996, he got approval from his sister’s, Aida, petition to immigrate to the U.S. He and his wife moved to the U.S. in 1997 and stayed there and worked till 2014 and became U.S. citizens.
He and his wife, Myda, immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 2014 to be with his children: Jay and Jeanila. He and Myda lived with their daughter, Jeanila and her family, until his passing.
Prior to retirement, he loved spending time with family watching sports like basketball and tennis on TV. As part of his daily routine, he loved walking around the block for an hour before going to work. He had a big heart of helping people as he would save a portion of his earnings to help others instead of spending them for his own.
Dianing was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Aida, Alfonso, Terry, Manny (Bebot), Carlos and Diana. He is survived by his wife and four children and twelve grandchildren (Adrienne, Aina, Ann Grace, Jared, Jaiden Jazmine, Jerard, Andre, Adam, Andrew, Joaquin and Jia) and three siblings (Felixberto, Carolina and Victoria).
