Albert Robert Cyril Van Cauwenberghe

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Albert passed away on May 1, 2024 at the Grace Hospice.

Albert is lovingly remembered by his wife Della (2 months short of their 60th anniversary), son Glenn and daughter-in-law, Suzanne.

He is also survived by; his sister Doreen (George), brother George, sister Eileen, sister-in-law Darlene (Wayne), many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him, as well as great and great-great nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa, mother Eloide, father Marcel, stepfather Henri D’hont, sister Margaret (Albert Yackel), brother-in-law Celestine Grenier, sister-in-law Laurette Van Cauwenberghe, niece Karen Wise, an in-laws Maurice and Vida DeJaegher, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Dolores DeJaegher.

Albert was an avid camper, spending many years at Miller’s and winters in Arizona, where he made many long-lasting friendships. He always had time for coffee and chats with friends, relatives and neighbors. He enjoyed numerous travels in Canada and abroad with friends and family.

Special thanks to all the staff at Riverview Health Center and Grace Hospice for their attentive care.

As per Albert’s request, cremation has taken place. A private graveside ceremony for family will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Winnipeg Humane Society.
