Forever Remembered

On September 28th, 2019, Austin passed suddenly in his sleep, at the young age of 16.

Austin is the light of and life of his Mom and Dad, Jacqueline and Mike Desrochers. His laughter, his strength, his absolute joy kept his parents going, everyday.

While Austin faced many obstacles and challenges, nothing stopped him from enjoying every experience. From zip-lining over alligators in Florida to swimming in the Pacific ocean, he did it all! His expressive blue eyes, and his contagious belly laugh ensured you knew he loved it, and that he loved you.

Austin has left a hole in our hearts that can’t be filled - but also a lifetime of memories to keep us all laughing.

He is missed by Jacquie and Mike - (his Mom and Dad), Aunts Tracy and Marie (Carlos), Cousins Braeden (Loan), Aaron (Emma), Camryn, Dan and Daerion. Ryan, who has become family, along with many people at River East Collegiate, SSCY Centre and extended family and friends have always surrounded him with love. We know Austin is safe now, in the arms of his Granny and Grandpa, Mary and Ian MacPhee.

Grandparents Pauline and Ray Desrochers, Uncles Bob (Joyce), Rick (Riqui) and Aunt Monique. Cousins Nicole, Bradley, Connor and Tyler.

We will celebrate Austin's life on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2 p.m., at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, Life Program. We thank everyone associated with this program for the care and love Austin has experienced.

You have been the light of our family, and we feel a little dimmed without you. You are so loved and cherished, and we will miss you...but will speak your name often. Love you Boston!❤️

Austin’s service was amazing. In his short 16 years he touched many hearts and Alyssa’s lost a very special person in her life who taught her a lot. As parents u are AMAZING and the love and care u gave to Austin is reflected in all the lives he touched in such a positive way. Many people who live a long life have never touched as many as Austin did. Sorrow is hard but be assured he left many great memories for everyone who interacted with him. Take care and God bless u both for being the SPECIAL parents u were to Austin

Dear Jacquie and Mike,
Austin was loved by all and brought joy to everyone who knew him. I felt lucky to be his school bus driver. It was heart warming to see his eyes light up when he saw his mom and dad. Austin was very fortunate to have you two as his parents. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I was fortunate to have Austin in my grade 7 class at Robert Andrews School. His smile lit up the room every time he was there. He will forever be in our hearts.

I had the privilege to work with this young boy at Robert Andrews for three years , and what an amazing three years I had. He was the sweetest boy! He also had the most amazing mom and dad. This was the most devastating news I have heard. So sorry to hear Jackie and Mike. You were amazing parents.
