

His wife and daughter were at his bedside. Baburao completed his higher education at Bombay University (Mumbai) and Ph.D from M. S. University of Baroda. After getting married, he came to the USA in 1964 under the National Institute of Health and National Science Foundation at Oregon State University. He came to Canada in 1965 as a National Research Council Post Doctoral Fellow at Queen's University. Finally to Winnipeg in 1972 as a research scientist for Agriculture Canada with international publications. He also completed a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. In Winnipeg, Baburao was a pillar of the Indian community. His roles within the Hindu Society included President, Trustee and Honorary Priest at the Hindu Temple. He published scholarly articles and was active with the India Association executive. His artwork and set designs were used for various publications and events.
Above all, he was dedicated to his family and leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Yamuna, and children Mona (Karl), Seema, and Niraj. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Kiran and Lian. We would like to express our gratitude to Doctors Bovell, Homan and Bras, as well as the nurses and other staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care.
Funeral service will be held at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
