Beryl Bondoreen “Mother” Parsons, a pillar of strength, dignity, and grace, passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 25th, 1937, Beryl was known for her warmth, steadfastness, and resilient spirit. She was predeceased by her parents, Alban and Princess Roberts, her brothers, James, Amos, Oneal and Feddy, and sisters, Pearlina and Albertina.
Affectionately called “Mother” by many, Beryl’s life was defined by her deep commitment to family - both those connected by blood and those bonded to her heart. She lovingly “mothered” numerous children throughout her life, offering guidance, stability, and unconditional care to all who needed her.
She will be fondly remembered by her beloved children: Sylvonne Layne (Calvert), Patricia Chewitt (Randolph), Arlene Green, Yolande Parsons (late, Valentine), and Desiree Anunobi (Francis); her sister, Veronica Creese; her grandchildren: Lystra Massey (Nathan), Stephen Chewitt (Angela), Chenene Dhaene (Patrick), Camillia Layne, Darnell Green (Kourtney), Denzel Green (Mariah), Yelena Knight, Sade Parsons, and Destiny Anunobi; her great-grandchildren: Alanna, Eden, and Leiran Massey; Sophia and Dominic Chewitt; Xavier Dhaene; and one great-granddaughter on the way (Darnell & Kourtney); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a large circle of church family, and many dear friends. She will be cherished deeply by all who knew her.
Among Beryl’s greatest accomplishments was raising her children, which she did with unwavering love and devotion. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. A dedicated educator, she served as a teacher and school principal for many years in her native St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where she was regarded as a pillar of the community. In 1982, she made the sacrificial decision to immigrate to Canada for the betterment of her family. She later pursued studies as a Library Technician and worked at the University of Manitoba’s Dafoe Library for 13 years, retiring in 1997.
Beryl’s legacy is one of generosity, kindness, intelligence, and unshakeable faith. She was an avid reader, a lover of word games, and a firm believer in treating books with respect. She was known for her impeccable grammar and beautiful penmanship - reflections of the care and excellence she brought to every part of her life.
